Le Tedey is located in Le Moutchic, on the shores of Lacanau Lake, nestled among the Landes pine trees typical of the Gironde region. As soon as you settle in—whether you’ve chosen a campsite with a view of the lake or a mobile home among the pines— the setting itself becomes part of the experience. The rustling of the trees, the reflection of the lake in the early morning, the soft light filtering through the forest: these are the things that Le Tedey’s guests often remember most.

Just a stone’s throw from the lake, Anamaya offers a relaxing retreat right in the heart of the campground. Choose from solo or couples’ massages, a variety of techniques to suit your preferences, and even treatments specially tailored for children and babies.

Lacanau Lake, a life-size playground

The lake is right there, just a few steps away. And it’s waiting just for you. Swimming, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, sailing, windsurfing: water sports are at the heart of the Tedey experience. The vast, calm body of water is perfect for children trying stand-up paddleboarding for the first time, as well as for adults who want to paddle a little further toward the opposite shore.

Lacanau is a popular destination for sailing and water sports. Local providers offer lessons and equipment rentals near the campground.

The ocean is 8 km away: beaches and surfing within easy reach

One of Tedey’s highlights is this dual appeal: the lake for tranquility, the ocean for a breath of fresh air. Lacanau Océan is about 8 km away, connected by bike paths that wind through the pine forest. By bike, the ride is pleasant and scenic—an outing in itself, even before you reach the beaches.

In the area, the Atlantic’s fine-sand beaches stretch for several kilometers. With lifeguards, surf schools, and spots well-known to surfers, the ocean offers a natural and spectacular complement to the tranquility of the lake.

And what about the kids in all this?

At Le Tedey, the youngest guests have their own space. The kids’ club welcomes children ages 5–12 in July and August, Monday through Friday, mornings and afternoons, for arts and crafts and nature discovery workshops. Teenagers aren’t left out either: the teen club (ages 12–17) has its own space and offers evening events and activities designed just for them, during the same time slots.

Life at the campground: what’s happening around the lake

When evening falls, the atmosphere takes on a different feel. The campground hosts concerts and dance parties under the pine trees, overlooking the lake—rock, electronic, and jazz, depending on the night. These festive events take place near the restaurant, in a setting that blends soft lighting with the sound of the water.

Outside of the big events, life at the campground follows its own rhythm: beach volleyball (July–August), mini-golf, ping-pong tables, pétanque courts, an outdoor fitness area, and a children’s playground. Equipment—rackets, balls, clubs—is available to borrow for free at the front desk. A book exchange and board games round out the offerings for quieter moments.
